On Sept. 16, 2019 the Boulder Mountain Bike Patrol (BMBP) was presented with the Colorado Open Space Alliance’s (COSA) Blue Grama Award, acknowledging the patrol’s partnership with open space programs.
Former Patrol Director David Leedy had the honor of being invited to the COSA conference in Steamboat Springs to accept the award on behalf of the BMBP. He said, “I would especially like to call-out our agency sponsors: Lisa Dierauf & Jennelle Freeston with the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, along with Amanda Hatfield with Boulder County Parks and Open Space. We wouldn’t exist without their incredible support!”
This honor comes only weeks after Patroller Phil Davies spotted an out of control illegal campfire in West Magnolia while volunteering on August 25. His quick actions alerted fire fighters who were able to gain control and extinguish the fire before it could cause much damage. The Daily Camera featured the BMBP in this Oct. 3 story!
