Boulder City Council will consider e-bikes on certain Open Space & Mountain Parks (OSMP) trails at a city council meeting with a public hearing.
When: Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 6 p.m.
Where: City Council Chambers at 1777 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80302 or Zoom
BMA has been following this process since July 11, 2022. In brief, OSMP staff recommends allowing class 1 and class 2 e-bikes on approximately 34 miles of city open space trails. The Open Space Board of Trustees passed a motion to not allow e-bikes except to enable connectivity and contiguity where a multijurisdictional regional trail requires access to a segment of open space trail.
BMA submitted comments to OSMP on December 14, 2022 suggesting that the City of Boulder should collect more data before making a decision. Of the 34-miles of trail under consideration by OSMP staff, approximately 9 miles are singletrack trails.
How to weigh in: Sign up to speak at the June 1 city council public hearing. Sign-ups will be live starting on May 25, 2023.
