Brute Squad celebrated Season 10 with two big end-of-season events this year!

On August 5th, 25 members of Brute Squad lined up in Snowmass Village for the start of the Audi Snowmass 50. This was our best attended event in the 10-year history of Brute Squad, and for the first time, we even had a couple of dads racing with their sons (a.k.a. Sons of Brutes)! On a spectacularly beautiful and challenging course, 20 athletes completed one 25-mile loop, and 5 athletes completed 2 loops for a total of 50 miles with 10K feet of climbing!

A week later, after 17 weeks of training, 6 members of Brute Squad rolled out on a grey morning in Leadville to take on the grand-daddy of them all, the Leadville Trail 100. Congrats to the six who started, kudos to the four who finished this grueling event, and special appreciation to all of our aid station volunteers, who helped make it possible.
Thanks to all of the members of Brute Squad for our best season yet, not just for your incredible effort, but also for doing such a great job of representing BMA from start to finish with your spirit, dedication, and relentless enthusiasm.

Your coach is filled with gratitude, and so proud of all of you. 🙂
