BMA agrees with the OSMP staff recommendation that the OSMP charter should be amended to include e-biking as a passive recreational activity permissible on open space and allowed only on certain designated trails.
The OSMP Open Space Board of Trustees will be taking public comment on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. regarding staff’s proposal to allow e-bikes on certain open space trails. Here’s an update on that process and of eMTB access in Boulder County.

The USFS considers all types and classes of e-bikes motorized and they are not allowed on non-motorized trails. The USFS added a new motorized class just for e-bikes, but to change a USFS trail to allow e-bikes requires a study and a public process.
