In early to mid-February, the City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Department will close the Eagle Trailhead and sections of the Eagle and Sage Trails at Boulder Valley Ranch north of the city for maintenance and repair work over the next three months.
During the initial closure phase, the Eagle Trailhead and a segment of the Eagle Trail extending from the trailhead west to the eastern Sage-Eagle trail junction will be closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for approximately six weeks while repairs are conducted along the Eagle Trail. Additionally, a section of the Eagle Trail just south of the Sage-Eagle trail junction to the Mesa Reservoir dam will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, over the same estimated six-week period.
OSMP expects further closures along the Sage Trail in March-April, lasting an additional 4-6 weeks. All trail work and closure timelines are subject to weather conditions. Community members are strongly encouraged to check OSMPTrails.org for current trail closure information.
