Trail Maintenance and Improvements
Trails we’re working on
No experience necessary! Please bring Water, Snacks, Sunscreen, Long Pants, Sturdy Boots, Work Gloves, Sunglasses, Clothing to Layer, appropriate outer wear for weather.
This event was rescheduled from August 8, which was cancelled due to weather. This week we’ll continue working on Doudy Draw, in particular the area around the bridge, up to the switchbacks, and continuing on to the junction with Flatirons Vista. The goal is a sustainable trail thru armoring that offers more fun with alternate lines, better sight lines, and less user conflict. The existing trail was eroded and in a constant state of change. With your help the new trail will be more fun than ever before.
We’ll be MEETING ON SITE and we recommend you ride your bike in because it is about 1.5 miles from the Doudy Draw trailhead off of Eldorado Springs Drive (CO170). We’ll provide post-event beverages at the Doudy Draw parking lot (but if Doudy Draw Trailhead parking is full, overflow parking is available at Flatirons Vista and Greenbelt Plateau.)
Bring your bike and ride into the work site (or hike if you prefer). Save paperwork and fill out this pdf version of the OSMP waiver. Either print it and bring it with you, or send it to Beau Clark at least 2 days before the event.
This event is hosted in partnership with the Boulder Public Lands Coalition, an informal group of people and organizations including BMA that voluntarily participate in the development of shared support for mutual goals.
