Fourmile Link Trail Closure Begins May 5 for Step Replacement Project
Edited May 23: Boulder County staff have completed the project, the trail is open.
Starting May 5, the Fourmile Link Trail will be closed from Fourmile Canyon Drive to the creek as Boulder County Open Space crews begin a major improvement project.
What’s happening:
The county will be replacing the aging timber stair risers with more durable stone steps, improving long-term stability and safety on this heavily used section of trail. This work requires the use of heavy equipment and will temporarily close the trail segment to all access.
How this impacts access:
- There will be no access to Betasso Preserve from Fourmile Canyon Drive while the project is underway.
- The closure is expected to last 4 to 6 weeks, depending on weather and construction progress.
- Access from town is via the Link trail or Sugarloaf Rd.
We’ll provide updates if the timeline changes — thanks for your patience while crews complete this important work!
