The Erie Singletrack Trails are closed on Friday, May 31 due to heavy rainfall causing wet and muddy conditions. Trails will be checked again tomorrow morning. #boco_trails

There have been many wildlife sightings at Betasso recently. 6 new kits living in the culverts in the main lot, so please make sure to follow the speed limit. On Sunday a mountain lion was spotted near Betasso rd & Betasso link trail. Enjoy these photos and video! #boco_trails

Forsythe II Prescribed Fire Update for MONDAY, MAY 20 2024: Fire crews remain at the Forsythe II Prescribed Burn Project Site, and will continue their work for the next several days. There are no further ignitions planned for the Forsythe II project area this spring.

The Picture Rock Trail at Heil Valley Ranch is now open. Upper Wapiti, Ponderosa, and Wild Turkey remain closed due to flowing springs. Enjoy! #boco_trails

While many roads and campgrounds are set to open soon, across the forest recent windstorms, snow, mud and other obstacles have led to delays. Crews will continue to assess conditions over the coming weeks.

The Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee will meet on Thursday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m.

Agenda items include:
• Sunny Belle Property Acquisition (recommendation to BOCC)
• Fairgrounds Policy Manual Update (recommendation to BOCC)
• Howell Ditch Reconstruction and Prince Lake

The status of trails has not changed since last post: Trails are now Open at VBP with the exception of the L and XL dirt jump lines. They still need some maintenance before opening.

Erie Singletrack Trails are OPEN today, Tuesday, May 14.

Please be aware of mowing operations on and near the Sage (Green) Line of the trail this morning. All other section of trail are open and unaffected by the mowing. #boco_trails

The Erie Singletrack Trails are closed as 11:55 a.m. of Sunday, May 12 due to heavy rainfall causing wet and muddy conditions. Trails will be checked again tomorrow morning. #boco_trails

OSMP anticipates completing the construction of two new trails this summer. The two new trails are part of an extensive trail repair, construction and maintenance program we plan to implement in 2024. Read about upcoming work: http://bldr.fyi/osmp-trail-work #boco_trails

The Grindstone Quarry Trail, Lichen Loop, Overland Loop and Schoolhouse Loop at Heil Valley Ranch are now open. The Wapiti Trail is only open to the Lichen Loop junction. Enjoy! #boco_trails

Picture Rock will not open tomorrow. The springs between the silo and the 4 mile mark are draining into the trail keeping deep soupy mud on a dozen sections. Photos don’t really do it justice. Staff will check it tomorrow afternoon.

Trails in Marshall Mesa/Greenbelt Plateau, Doudy Draw/Flatirons Vista areas are now open. Please go through any remaining muddy spots. Left Hand Trail remains closed because of muddy conditions. More info:  #boco_trails

The Little Thompson Overlook Trail at Ron Stewart Preserve at Rabbit Mountain is now open. The Eagle Wind Trail remains closed as it is still extremely muddy. #boco_trails

The Sage Trail (off Longhorn Rd north of Boulder) repair project is complete – the construction closure is no longer in-place, and the trail (along with Eagle Trail and Eagle Trailhead) are now fully open.
